Uniting identified the need for various upgrade works to modernise and refresh this multi-storey aged care building in Bankstown, NSW.
SQC ARCHITECTURE’S SOLUTION
This design and procurement project encompassed the Entry foyer, Multi-purpose spaces, Serveries and three levels of residential aged care.
Serveries were re-designed to be more accessible to residents and to have a more domestic kitchen look. While underutilised staff spaces were converted into resident sitting spaces, including a Library and Chapel. New timber screening and residential entrance doors were introduced to give each level a residential-style entrance experience and also offer an increased level of privacy from the lift lobby space.
In order to achieve a more homely look and feel throughout, particular attention was given to selections of flooring, paint, window furnishings, furniture, fabrics, artworks and decorative items. Custom wayfinding signage and graphic films were also developed as part of this project.
